Heart - Alone [Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre - July 11, 2019]

The ticket was for disobeying a police officer, which he really didn't do and there were no signs prohibiting a u-turn. We were in the front row of section , so I thought we were in pretty good shape. Somewhat of a combination between Alpine Valley and the Marcus Amphitheater, FMB Amphitheater definitely could give you the impression by the pictures online that it's a top notch place, but air out of bubble it's not. Here, you walk around, through the concessions, and then up the hill. These bums know they can try and take advantage of you and get away with it. My first time to this venue for a concert, and it did not disappoint.{/INSERTKEYS}{/PARAGRAPH} Twice the sound was just okay. We told the cabby to take it to court and he should win. {PARAGRAPH}{INSERTKEYS}Very costly but very luxurious and outclass. Once not very good. The show was great, the sound was good and our seats were not bad. We had to follow a delivery person up, who was taking bottled water to the top concessions. Little tiny musicians playing soft music. Not so great if it rains. Some of the products like games are very costly. Problem is, there were people getting into these cabs! Expect to wait. Had lawn seats and I really like lawn seats - anywhere else. And I'm not an 'Are we there yet? Probably took a whole team of engineers to come up with that one. Long walk from the gate, because of the way the place is built with its false hill. Lines for beer and t-shirts really bad, disorderly, took absolutely forever. And that after waiting in line fifteen minutes just to get into the packed, poorly lighted den. And from the grass there's not much to see. Tickets were okay, everything else was gouging. I've been there three times, and there were several more I would have liked to see and couldn't for one reason or another. Not loud enough, all in all, or clear enough. They tripped over our blanket, stumbled into us, etc. The sky boxes sort of mute the sound to the grass. Too many people. At least Alpine Valley another not so hot venue, but for different reasons utilizes a real hill and put the stage at the bottom, so that when you park, you pretty much walk onto the lawn and there's your seat. Nice looking place, I'll give it that. No security weeding out pun intended the drunks. Maybe it's better in the seats up front, but some reviews indicate a big negatory. Or rather, they ran into us, literally. The pics online maybe Pav, II look closer than what it is and there is hardly an incline and as stated before none in the first before the handicap sections. And I hate to say that, because the best part is: great acts tend to book there, at reasonable prices. Are you kidding me? Worst Concert Venue unless you have very close seats on the floor, don't even bother. I like traveling by motor vehicle. And leaving the place is a nightmare also. The worst: I can't decide the order for this one. Yes, this took my awhile to complain but now that it is concert season again I wanted to warn parents who are considering spending a lot of money on a ticket that might not be worth it. Also, security needs to worry about real threats vs. First off, Parking is a joke, maybe they should think about hiring adults who know how to handle a sold out venue. The weather was hot and humid, and so were the restrooms. Meantime, we watch other cars doing u-turns behind us. I expect a forty dollar t-shirt everywhere at this point. No tickets for them? Exactly what part was the very worst progressing to the least horrible, awful aspect, I don't know. Anyway, we had a memorable time together, especially when it was time to catch literally a cab back to the hotel. Thumbs Down. Not at this venue. Many motortists were doing the same thing, except maybe a few cars farther back in line, but our cabby ends up pissing off the officer at the intersection, who was probably working forced overtime, and gets a ticket. We left just prior to the show ending and I thought we were in very good shape to get a Five Star Cab back to the hotel. I like driving distances. United Center, Marcus Amphitheater are much better for similar size venues. Bigger monitors in the Rosemont theater for frick's sake. That delayed us about 30 minutes. That leads me to the security, when complaining about the seats and asking to be moved to a group of empty seats for at least a change to see the show, we were told twice they would look into and then never came back. Very unprofessional! Now, there are many very large support posts throughout, so if you are shopping for seats for an upcoming event, you may want to use caution with any that contain "obstructed, or may have obstructed view". There were just plain too many people in the venue, and it seemed like half of everyone we ran into on the lawn was drunk. So, I'll start with generally egregious and proceed downward. United Center and Marcus Amphitheater are much better values, and the Marcus isn't even as expensive on concessions. Sometimes we had to move our blanket, even though we'd planted first, just to get away from them, only to have it repeat as more and more showed up. People were coming and going constantly either to the restrooms or concessions. What's more, it has a nice outdoor atmosphere. I felt like pulling him out through his open window and strangling him. I drive an hour and a half minimum into Chicago or Milwaukee, sometimes up to six hours, for a show. And I wouldn't mind, except that it's like driving forever to go to the dentist. But all of that only gets it a 2, and that's generous. No one was bothering us, we were not blocking any walkways and they way we were spoken too was appalling!!! Section is the worst, better off fighting for lawn seat There is no incline between the handicap and row NN so you are pretty much blind the entire concert due to the venue selling the handicap seats to non-handicap persons. We were dropped off at a gate on the north side of the venue and walked to our seats in about ten minutes. Not enough toilets or stalls for the wave upon wave of drunken party-people using them. It looked like sections and were the places to be. Just be careful when you sleect your seats and take lots of cash for concessions. They were center stage. But, this place is way out in the middle of no where. The monitors aren't very big. And where was security to tell them to clear the stairs? But ten dollar beer and seven dollar water is too much for a place of this minimal quality. I like seeing the countryside. Evidently, they have nothing better to spend their, or someone else's, money on. Took over an hour and half to get out of the parklng lot. The concessions were expensive. Disgusting to think of to this day. Gravel parking lot. The only complaint I would have about our seats is the walkway directly in front of us. But amongst the humidity was also the heat and stench of urine. It appeared the cabby was being singled out. Then on the way to the hotel the cabby turns right at a stoplight, as directed by a police officer and his flares, and then does a u-turn to go back the direction we needed to go. Elbow to elbow is fun under certain circumstances. Tried with all my might to hold my breath. However, as we were getting to the same gate where we were dropped off, I saw a Five Star leaving and it was one hour before we saw another one. We stayed at a nearby hotel and took a cab to the venue the night of the show. I felt like I was breathing it instead of air.
